Rajkumar Sharma is the President of the All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA) since April 2014. He's passionately committed to transform India to be a global leader in the field of Robotics, IOT and AI through technological advancements, building and ecosystem that enables institutions to produce best talent as well as creating workplace for them, helping industry to develop best products and creating market place to showcase, establishing India as a hub for innovation, products and technology start-ups.
Raj is the member of various advisory committees at national and state level. He is team-oriented leader and having more than two decades of senior leadership exposure of various industries including FMCG, Telecom, Media and eCommerce. He gradually scaled new heights in the field of robotics and AI development in India. He is focused on setting benchmarks in futuristic projects using IOT, AI, Data Analytics, UAV and Block Chain. Under his leadership AICRA has taken lots of successful initiatives. As President of AICRA, he is responsible for leading and contributing to many policy level dialogues and discussions to enhance the competitiveness of Indian industry and towards the development of India.
Addressing the challenge of lack of tech-skilled manpower for Industries, his approach has been focused on four-point agenda - State of art infra setup at Institutions with the help of industry - Sourcing mentors and experts for training - Certification as per industry norms - accelerating the innovations. Collaborating with Ministry of Commerce & Industry, he introduced Industry 4.0 Center of Excellence setup for institutions wherein tech-enthusiasts can learn, innovate and commercialize their projects.
He actively works with the industry and government to accelerate the growth of the Industry in technology sector. Prestigious conclaves and summits like GAISA, India STEM Summit and IndiaFirst Startup Conclave are few of events introduced by him.
The pandemic situation has created a tremendous opportunity for the tech industry to reinvent itself. Start-ups would play major role to revive economy and creating job opportunities. He rolled out several programs with the objective of supporting entrepreneurs, building a robust startup ecosystem and transforming India into a country of job creators instead of job seekers. These programs includes technology development support, startup funding and organizing various B2B events.
His initiative to launch World's largest Robotics Championship - TechnoXian has inspired and encouraged youth for tech-skilling and innovation. 6th edition of TechnoXian witnessed 28000+ youth participants from 22 countries.
Raj holds management degree from Agra University, India and served HUL, Hutchison Essar, Airtel, Times Group, Reliance etc. He's leading AICRA policy work relating to tech-policy, financial services and corporate and technology governance.
As an apex industry body, AICRA works closely with the Government of India and industry to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India. AICRA is a non-government, not-for-profit industry-focused organisation. More than 3500 corporate, institutions and industry bodies are members of AICRA. AICRA has 6 Industry-based technology governance steering committees includes Defense, Agriculture, Healthcare, Education, Aerospace and Tech Startups, and other groups to advance policy issues for the country and focus on competitiveness of Indian industry.
